Most beauty “problems” can be somewhat prevented and moisturizing your skin has proven to be important in successfully doing so. Finding a moisturizer that works well for your skin without negative effects can take a lot of trial and error. However if you’re aware of your skin type you’ll be that much more ahead. Many prestigious companies with a skin care line have questionnaires to help determine your skin type as well. Keep in mind when you approach new products that you need to know if you’re allergic to or have reactions with any specific ingredients or medicines. Being knowledgeable about your skin can save you a lot of grief and discomfort in the end.
Do you have dry, combination, or oily skin? Is your skin sensitive or easily reactive? One reason I adore Sephora is that their associates can help you in finding a product and make testers for you to try at home with the rest of your beauty regimen! Nothing is more discouraging than spending $30+ on a beauty product and finding out that it doesn’t work well for you. But if you’re someone who doesn’t have time to waste browsing or sampling a ton of products, keep the original packaging and you can return it to Sephora if it doesn’t work out after a couple applications.
My go to skin care line is through Clinique. Their products are hypoallergenic and contact lense safe which are both a couple main causes of irritation for me. I want something I can wear for extensive periods of time without worrying if I’ll break out. Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel is a perfect match for my combination and oily skin. A few years ago Clinique only had their Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion available and I had used a few times but its weight would make me breakout after a couple hours because of my T-zone. I don’t believe I ever finished a bottle of their lotion. I was so very excited to hear they had remixed their formula to come up with a lighter solution and I’ve been a faithful customer ever since. A couple pumps of their gel goes a fair way and when it’s massaged in, it feels as though it liquifies and is completely absorbed. In my past experience with their moisturizing lotion, it wouldn’t all absorb, sitting on my face only to feel heavier if my face got shiny after a couple hours. However, friends of mine that have dry skin feel the lotion is the only way to go.
Clinique’s moisturizing lotion and gel are both offered for sale individually in various sizes, and they are also offered in their classic 3- Step System. Whats great about the 3- Step System is that it is tailored to your specific skin type. It’s contains a facial soap, astringent toner and moisturizer, either for sensitive, dry, or combination and oily types. This is something I’ve always used since I was a pre-teen. It’s well worth the price and has never let me down.
